Vijayadashami marks both Rama's victory over Ravana and Durga's over Mahishasura. Like Akshaya Tritiya it is treated as auspicious throughout, needing no separate muhurat — which is why it is traditional for starting education, learning an instrument, or buying a vehicle. The Vijaya muhurat in the afternoon is considered the strongest window.
